INTERIM RADIOLOGY MANAGER

ARRT and California Radiographic Technology (CRT) licensure required

Location - Northern California

IMMEDIATE NEED FOR AN

INTERIM RADIOLOGY / DIAGNOSTIC IMAGING DEPARTMENT MANAGER

Ability to perform:

  • CT Scan

  • Ultrasound

  • Radiography (X-ray)

  • Fluoroscopy (willing to obtain certification if hired)

  • Interventional Radiology

Requirements:

 

The Radiology/Diagnostic Imaging Department Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, directing, coordinating and evaluating the activities of the Radiology/Diagnostic Imaging Departments to maintain high quality patient care including Departmental Goals. This position participates in Operational and Strategic Planning as part of the management team. The Manager assures that the department meets all regulatory requirements related to service area for DHS, JCAHO, and other as appropriate. Working collaboratively with others to meet goals and solve problems is a requirement of this position. Assumes 24-hour responsibility for the department.

 

  • Manage Radiology Department budgets for personnel, capital, and non-capital equipment, outside service contracts and all technical, medical, and clerical supplies.

  •  

  • Manage Radiology Department personnel by coaching, counseling, evaluating, training, and disciplining to promote services with objectivity.

 

  • Interviews and evaluates new candidates for employment with the aid of supervisory staff, and utilizing progressive discipline terminates those employees who do not meet the standards of employment.

 

  • Establish and administer policies and procedures, goals, and objectives, which meet with administrative requirements and State and Federal laws.

 

  • Analyze, monitor and direct the daily departmental operations to provide quality, cost effective, timely, and appropriate patient service.

 

  • Directs physician, technologist and office staff to coordinate the activities that provide the desired level of patient care.

 

  • Directs and assess the preventive maintenance and repair of all technical equipment to ensure quality, timely and cost effective equipment availability.

 

  • Develop and coordinate departmental expansion plans, being cognizant of new and ever changing technological advances within the realm of medical practice and its effect on the Radiology Department.

 

  • Administers policies and facilitates patient services.

 

The following are unit-specific accountabilities:

 

  • Directs and supervises routine diagnostic – radiographic procedures under the medical supervision of the radiologist and administrative of the hospital CNE.

 

  • Maintains a system for reporting results of all radiological studies and the billing procedures associated with them.

 

  • Will perform all duties of a radiographic technologist as necessary.

 

  • Will participate as on-call in order to provide 24-hour coverage for the department

 

  • Will listen to concerns and goals of the referring physician and act upon or explain actions to physician/administration.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum Education:

    • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiographic Technology.

  • Minimum Experience/Skills:

    • Minimum of five (5) years’ management experience.

    • Minimum of three (3) years’ Radiology/Diagnostic Imaging experience (prefer hospital experience).

  • Licensure:

    • Current Radiologic Technologist with ARRT Licensure.

    • Current California Radiographic Technology (CRT) Licensure.

    • Current California Fluoroscopy Licensure (or willing to obtain upon hire)
